"Mt. Fuji for World Heritage - a wish from Kyoto native"

Masahiro DAMBAYASHI

I was born in 1972 in Kyoto.
After graduating from university in 1996, I started working at JTB, Japan's
biggest travel agency.
One day in summer 2000 my life changed when I met "Aka-Fuji", the mountain colored in red by early-morning sun. Then I quit the company and move to Izu where I can see Mt. Fuji every day.
I started to take photos of the mountain season by season while working at a hotel in Izu Nagaoka hot springs.
In December 2010, I quit the hotel and moved to Fujinomiya, the city at the foot of Mt. Fuji, to devote myself entirely to take photos of the mountain.
Since I want Mt. Fuji to be registered as UNESCO World Heritage, I begin to sell original postcards of the mountain in Kyoto, which is Japan's center of tourism as well as my hometown.
I use only film camera and spend more than 120 days a year to shoot diverse scenery of Mt. Fuji.
